For the 20th consecutive year we held our now-legendary golf day for the insurance and related industries at the picturesque Stoke by Nayland Golf Club, in the heart of delightful Constable Country on the Essex/Suffolk border.

The tournament will took place on Friday 14th August on both the Constable and Gainsborough courses.

We decided not to tinker too much with what we consider to be a winning formula, so the format of the day remained largely unchanged.

 

Entries were restricted to teams of four golfers who will took part in a combination of Singles Stableford and Scramble competitions played on the demanding but rewarding Constable and Gainsborough courses.

 

The entry fee of £400 per team of four which included all peripheral fundraising competitions also covered a bacon roll on arrival, buffet lunch and barbecue supper, plus your choice of 27 or 36 holes of golf.

 

The one exception was the 18th hole gambling challenge which was  “pay on the day”, since it allowed the players to back their prowess on the day with a small (?) amount of hard cash!

 

The Golf Day included:-

 

• Singles Stableford and Team Scramble competitions (9 & 18 holes)
•  Longest Drive and Nearest the Pin on all 8 par threes
• Grand Raffle
• Catering - coffee & bacon roll on arrival, buffet lunch and barbecue dinner
