Football Forecasting 2008/9 On-Line Entry

Welcome to the CRUK Football Prediction competition for season 2007/2008.  This competition has been running many years now, and I hope you will help us make this years competition as successful as previous years.

 

The competition is simple to enter, all you have to do is use your football knowledge to predict which three teams you think will do best in each league, and which three teams you think will be the worst in each league. Also predict who will win the FA Cup, League Cup and whom you think will be top premiership goal scorer, (with extra points for goals they score in the cups).  

 

If you have no football knowledge, just guess – it seems to work for some people!

 

Scoring:-

For the teams you predict to do well, you GAIN one point for every league point they win.

For the teams you predict to do badly, you LOSE one point for every league point they win.  

(actual league position is irrelevant)

(Note:- any penalties imposed by the league WILL be taken into account)

 

League Cup:  3rd Rnd=1pt, 4th Rnd=3pts, Q/F=6pts, S/F=10pts, Winners=15pts

FA Cup: 3rd Rnd=1pt, 4th Rnd=3pts, 5th Rnd=6pts,Q/F=10pts, S/F=15pts, Winners=21pts

(Points above are awarded for winning the round indicated)

 

Premiership goalscorer = 3 points per goal (5 points for goals scored in FA & League Cups!!!)

 

A New feature this year – You can play a “Joker” in each division against one of your predicted teams.  This will double your points if it’s a team tipped for promotion, or quarter your points if it is a team tipped for relegation

 

 

Prizes are awarded to the best six entries, prize money will vary depending on the number of entries, 66% of entry money will be used as the prize fund.

 

The entry is £5 for one entry, or £10 for three entries

(You will need Microsoft Word - available form all good software shops, and some rubbish ones as well!)

There are three very easy questions on each entry form that you must also answer, they are as simple as abc….
